THE VOTE and your ideas

I thought I would just put down my take on your films to help you get a clearer idea of what they are and to assess at home on your own which most attracts you.

These are the film ideas you voted for:

Mellissa - Kane and Danayi's urban thriller about a good girl who gets mixed up with a bad lad, gets pregnant and becomes the victim of domestic violence. But how far can you push someone before they snap? A rough tough drama about life and love in the hood.

The Day of Reckoning - Annette's Psychological thriller about a girl from a religious family who suffers from mental illness but whose mum refuses her medication on religious grounds. When she meets a mysterious new friend her life becomes more exciting but also more dangerous and her mother begins to believe that she is possessed by the devil.

(No title) Fatima and Zamzam's Psychological thriller about a boy and girl whose relationship develops an unhealthy side as he begins to manipulate her, making her feel increasingly insecure and pushing her towards madness. When finally she is kidnapped the chance for revenge beckons.

(No title) Sam, Kam and Jan's Comedy Horror about three good - but very different friends who are found guilty of a minor crime and given community service in an old abandoned warehouse which is haunted. Fear and laughs in equal measure as the friends respond in hilarious ways to the ghosts and try to find out what happened, who died and why.

Fists of Fear - Lauren's urban tale of one girl's struggle against adversity to achieve success in her chosen sport. Set against the background of domestic violence this is a story of the inner power of the human spirit, of a mother and a daughter united by a common purpose.

(No title) Mariam and Samanta's ghostly horror about two good friends whose cement their friendship when they find two hair antique hair clips on a grave in their local grave yard. However, instead of their friendship becoming closer, it turns gradually to a searing hatred and threatens to spill into violence and murder. Are the clips to blame? Who are these girls anyway? The clues are all there on the grave stones?

And these are the others which weren't your favourites in class but which have as you will see a lot of potential.

(No title) Zahra's Odd couple movie with comedy and dance. Two girls are thrown together one as an academic peer mentor for the other. One clever and nerdy, the other rude and always in trouble. they find in time a powerful friendship forged in the gym when the nerdy girl learns to dance. A feel good movie about friendship between opposites.

(No title) Zhane, Nisha and Aleena's ghost horror. Set in a run down urban estate, a teenage girl's dreams are haunted by visions of footsteps climbing the walls, of two mysterious tower blocks and some secret which they contain. When one day she sees the blocks from her dream she is both scared and intrigued and when a mysterious face appears at a window, she is hooked into investigating more.

(No title) Sarah and Shanze's comedy horror is set one night when two girls are doing a sleep-over. Strange noises and odd happenings persuade them that a ghost is responsible until it is revealed that it is just the sister of one of them having a joke. Only after she has gone to bed, the noises still continue and it becomes the most terrifying night of their short lives.

Down Low Up Close - Kathryn's bad boy turns good story set in a deprived urban estate, a teenage lad coming out of a young offenders institute tries to turn his life around but escaping his past and the gang he grew up with could prove harder than he thought.

His Life - Rhian's coming of age film sees a kid grow up in a single parent family with a depressed mum and struggle to deal with all that life throws at him. But in the end, somehow he will get there.
