The task was to make a comparison between a music magazine and another magazine (different topic and target audience). What comparisons did you come up with in your venn diagram?

FRIDAY CACTHUP

Only 4 students took advantage of the Friday session to catch-up assignments despite there being no other revision sessions at that time.

This means that a number of you still have some outstanding work which must be completed during the next half of term after school on Wednesday from 3.20pm- 4.50pm.

I will be going through all assignments with you this week and letting you know if you need to attend or not. These sessions will not be compulsory but if you do not attend and you work remains incomplete them you will be marked accordingly and it will probably mean a lower grade.

In addition to after school on Wednesday - as informed in the letter which went out before the half term, you can work in lunchtimes on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. I will be in and out Monday, Thursday and Friday and Ms Patel will be supervising on Wednesday.

Homework: Collage of central images

DUE: Friday 15th February

Post it on your blog

1) Create a collage of central images from a number of magazines aimed at a similar target audience (e.g. magazines aimed at a young male audience, magazines aimed at an older female audience). Write at least one paragraph noting any similarities in the images used.

Friday 11th January - P1

Today's tasks.

Your objective this morning is to continue with your edits and completing the supporting materials for your portfolio.

• Continue picture and sound edit on iMovie
• add inter-titles including: reviews, narrative clues (where necessary), voice-over (if necessary)

Homework due Tuesday 15th january

• Complete portfolio
• Create your production company logo in a form you can add to your film

Please ensure that you use the time productively and help each other if you encounter technical difficulties. If there is s significant issue with the iMacs please ask the cover teacher to contact ITsupport via email and they should be able to help your resolve most things.

Jahnasha and Samantha - your new footage is on the mediastudies drive. You wil need to IMPORT it into iMovie, ask Zahra for help with this.

REMINDER

If you need to borrow a camera kit for additional shooting you will need a detailed plan which should be typed and emailed to me by Tuesday.

NEW YEAR - ASSIGNMENT 3 & EXAM

Assignment 3

Deadlines in class

You will have time during the first 2 weeks of lessons to complete your trailers. After this time there will be no additional in-class time allocated as we will be focussed entirely on the exam course. 

Teaching of the exam course will take place from Jan through till May though there will be breaks during this for review of your coursework folders and to ensure that you are not missing any work.

Letters will also be coming out to all of you with regard to the parents evening in January.

Coursework Audit

This will take place in the new year to look at all the coursework folders and establish what work needs to be completed and where their are gaps we will be running a catch-up sessions after school, in lunch times and even during lessons to ensure that you have nothing missing.
